Hi! My name is Simone Aitken-Penn and I am the co-CEO of Oui Tutor. This is my third year as a tutor and my second year on the board. I graduated from the International School of OC in 2021 and I am still close with my fellow alumni.
In addition to my work with Oui Tutor, I am a Varsity girls golf player and a Girl Scout Ambassador. I also served as president of the French Honor Society and the Oui Tutor Club at my high school while enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program.
My time as a board member has taught me valuable leadership, management, and communication skills. While working with my fellow tutors, I’ve learned how to effectively guide our organization and support Oui Tutor’s mission. My involvement as a board member and tutor has deepened my appreciation for community service and the impact we can have on students’ lives
Hello, I am William Kerr, Senior. I am interested in history and film studies. I also have a deep passion for comic books and fiction. I aspire to become an FBI agent in the future. I also have a passion for helping the community and tutoring.
Outside of school, I'm a Level 10 Junior-Olympic gymnast, as well as the Director of Design of my grade’s current event online newspaper, Our Generation. I have become experienced in working with kids through tutoring students of diverse ages as well as coaching gymnastics. I love getting to know each student personally and watching them grow to achieve their goals. I can’t wait for our first session!
Hello, I’m Jackson. I’ve been with Oui Tutor for about two and a half years. I’m a junior, and I love history. I’m an Eagle Scout, and I work as a lifeguard as well as spend my free time playing sports with my friends. I’m vice president of the disability awareness club at my school, and I look forward to tutoring as many kids as possible this year!
In the fall, I also managed the girl’s volleyball team and plan to do the same with the beach volleyball team in the spring. Outside of school, I spend my time crocheting and enjoying time with my family. Having studied at the French school, LILA, I can speak French fluently. Additionally, I can understand Arabic and speak to an extent. I am so excited to take part in the education of the next generation and can not wait to get to know this year’s students!
Hi! I’m Katherine Stone. I’m a first-year board member and OuiTutor’s recruitment chair. I love working with kids and have participated as a counselor and intern for both academic and traditional summer camps.
I participate in the youth group and choir at my church, and I’m a member of my school’s Mock Trial team. I’m a senior in the International Baccalaureate program at my high school, and I plan to earn a Seal of Biliteracy in French.
In my free time, I love to cook and travel, and I plan to study abroad in college. I’m so excited to learn with our students this year!
Here at OUI Tutor, we cannot thank Susan enough for the enormous amount of hours she’s put in.
Susan has trained us to run our meetings, motivated us to keep going when we were at our lowest, sent out reminders when most needed, and so much work behind the curtains.

I am an undergraduate student at UC Davis double majoring in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning and Economics with a minor in Political Science. Hi, I’m Sarine Hovsepian! I am currently in my third year of volunteering at OuiTutor, and I’m a senior at my school. I am the Volunteer Coordinator for my school’s NHS, and have been tutoring students in math for the last couple of years. I speak French, English and Armenian, and I am learning Spanish at school. I also do other volunteering, such as helping out at a homeless shelter, and organizing food drives at my school. Hi! My name is Sophie Semaan, and I’m the Secretary for OUI Tutor. This is my third year with Oui Tutor and I’m a junior in high school. I’m a part of the International Baccalaureate program. I was a student at the Lycée International in Los Angeles, a French school, for nine years and I passed the DELF A1, A2, B1, and B2. I volunteer part-time at the local library assisting and conducting many academic activities for kids. I’m very involved in extracurriculars such as dance, choir, the school’s fashion magazine, and French club, and I’m a six time MVP medalist in mock trial. I also teach younger students how to dance. I’m also a member of the national honor society and french honors society. I’m the CEO of the Oui Tutor Canyon chapter and Vice President of the French Club. Oui Tutor has taught me so much about working in teams and building an understanding of how non-profit organizations work. I’ve been involved with teaching kids for five years now, and I’m really passionate about it. Since I was young, my family placed a huge emphasis on education and the opportunities it brings, and as I grew up, I saw that not everyone gets the same opportunities, and it made me sad. Hi! My name is Charly De Guzman and I’ve been a tutor for Oui Tutor for around a year now. I’ve been able to make an impact on students’ lives by being a guiding figure for not only educational obstacles but also personal life challenges that I share advice for. It’s always a joy to work with students and see them thrive!
Outside of tutoring, I keep myself busy with school, work, and other extracurriculars. I’m currently a high school senior and take AP and IB classes to challenge myself with intense coursework. I am also a part-time assistant at Eye Level, a supplemental learning center for students. At school, I make an effort to get involved as the President of our Voters of Tomorrow Club, Co-President of our National Alliance on Mental Illness Club, Vice President of our Oui Tutor Club, and Co-Publicist of our Filipino Culture Club.
I’m also an associate with the Voters of Tomorrow California Chapter, completing volunteer work and helping with the organization’s activities. I use my free time to enjoy my hobbies, like playing the drums, graphic design, and collecting vinyl records.
